The first time I completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks, I found myself in a real slump. This time I am keeping the momentum by signing up to a new challenge. The Peak District Challenge Bronze - 50k (31 miles) in 12 hours. This distance is 7 miles more than the Yorkshire Three Peaks making it a good stretch from my existing fitness without pushing it to an extreme. As well as being the furthest I have ever walked it will also tip me over into the category of Ultra, something that had previously felt very far out of reach.

Starting from Hathersage, a chunk of the challenge runs though the Hope valley, an area I am very familiar with so a section I am really looking forward to. With the challenge landing in late September it’s going to be one to watch the weather for. In the meantime I have training to do.
